Boiling water thrown over 4 year-old boy in Okayama
De facto husband arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury

Okayama Prefectural Police arrested the suspect Kodai Ueyama (21, unemployed, Kurata, Naka-ku, Okayama City, Okayama Prefecture) on suspicion of causing burns to his de facto wife's 4 year-old son after throwing boiling water over him. According to Prefectural Police, the suspect Ueyama lived together with the son's mother for approximately one year.

Police say that the suspect threw the boiling water, which he had poured into a glass from an electric pot, over the boy causing burns on his back at their home in Okayama City at about 12.30pm on the 14th.
