8-month-old girl brain dead
In relation to an incident involving the death of an eight-month-old-baby which was admitted to hospital in Kasuga city in Fukuoka prefecture, the police arrested an unemployed man (19) for assault and arrested an unemployed woman (19) as an accessory to the crime. They are both of Chikushino City in Fukuoka Prefecture.
During the police investigation, they both admitted to the charges saying they were accurate, and the youth confessed he didnft like the child. The youth and the woman were dating, and the youth, the mother and her daughter were living together.
It is alleged that from mid October to later November, in their home in Chikushino City, they committed violence against the girl by slapping the back of her head and face resulting in serious injuries including skull fractures.
@Because the girl's face and whole body show signs of a large number of blows, the police consider that the abuse was repeated routinely and the police intend to examine it in detail. The couple met through a free cell phone game site in the beginning of September this year and it is reported that they began living together afterwards.
According to the police, around the evening of November 27th, the girl lost consciousness after the man shook her body and so on because she didnft stop crying.
The couple rushed into the house of a woman (60) who lives in Dazaifu City in the same Prefecture and wasn't acquainted with them and told her that the baby appeared to be unconscious and then the woman called an ambulance. The girl was transferred to the hospital in Kasuga City, but was brain dead upon arrival.
