A mother and her partner were arrested for alleged abuse.
Her eldest son (3) was found with hands and feet bound by a rope.
The Ashiya police office of Hyogo Prefecture Police arrested R. Nagai (30) (mother, unemployed) and S. Kaneko (45) (the common law husband, office worker) on suspicion of causing bodily harm on February 6th.
They are alleged to have tied her eldest son's hands and feet for about 20 hours with a rope which was tied to a dumbbell.
According to Ashiya police office, the accused Nagai denies the allegations in part, saying that her son suffered injuries, but it was intended as discipline.
The accused are alleged to have bound both of the eldest son's wrists and both ankles using a rope that was tied to a dumbbell of 10 kilos. They left him in the bedroom at home from about 10pm of the 4th to about 6:30pm of the 5th, causing him injuries including hypodermal bleeding which will require one week for recovery.
The Ashiya police office believes that it was routine for them to maltreat him, and will investigate the case in detail.
