A 24-year-old mother did not give water or meals to her one-year-old eldest son and neglected him resulting in his death. She phoned the police voluntarily and was arrested.

On July 2nd, the Chiba Prefecture Kisaradzu Police Department arrested the suspect Yuko Wada (24) (the mother, unemployed, Ohkubo, Kisaradzu City, Chiba Prefecture) on suspicion of abandonment of responsibility for protection. It is alleged that she didn't give water or meals to her son and neglected him. The son has already died. The same police department plan to carry out a judicial autopsy to examine the cause of his death on the 4th, and at the same time are planning a full investigation into the fatality.

The basis for the suspicion of the arrest is that from around noon of June 28th to around 10:00am of July 2nd she did not give water or meals to her son Ryoki, who was in an 8-tatami room on the second floor of their house, and that she neglected him. According to the police, the suspect Wada called the police at around 10:20am herself, and she told that she had shut her son into the room because the hot weather was continuing, and that she didn't give water to him. A police officer rushed to their house and found Ryoki who had died.

According to the police, the suspect Wada says that she lives with her son and after the birth of her son divorced from her husband. The police are examining a detailed motive.
